Industrial Wetland Pond
Landscape Design & Development
2010
This is a resource consent project for the planting design and installation of a stormwater pond, engineered to filter the contaminated water runoff from road making equipment.
- A series of swales creates varying water depths from 0 to 1m deep.
- Different groups of native plants were designed and planted for the various zones of slopes, margins and flood areas.
- Existing plants on site were divided and transplanted which contributed to reducing the costs.
- The planted ponds main objective is to improve the water quality but it also provides food and habitat for wildlife.
